Due to the steadily increasing traffic, a new road and rail bridge is currently being constructed in the Huchting district of Bremen, Germany. To absorb temperature-related displacements the bridge is being equipped with a system of expansion joints. “At more than 27 m in length, a weight of 6 tons, a life expectancy of 50 years and especially strict stipulations regarding noise reduction, this expansion joint system fulfills in every respect the increasing demands of customers”, said the head of the project, Georg Schreiber, who was happy to report trouble-free progress on the project.
