Mürmann – New m.connect application field

For a new assembly process a gas turbine manufacturer in Berlin needed to install in his production shop a 50-ton crane. This crane was required in addition to the three existing cranes in order to rotate heavy components. To disturb the work processes in operation as little as possible, it was decided to upgrade the existing crane track with m.connect compression and tension rods. For this purpose the rods were mounted between the reinforced concrete supports on the lower brace of the crane girder. The filigree m.connect solution enabled simple assembly with small, lightweight work platforms and without the need for welding. The advantages of this form of installation has persuaded the customer to upgrade the crane in another shop in the same way.
