LISEGA SE – New storage technology goes into operation
In the course of the optimization of material flow in Shop C, two new lifts went into operation in March to support the assembly of clamps and rigid struts. Lifts are a further development of the well-known paternoster storage technology, which LISEGA also applies. “With these new storage spaces in the lifts we can considerably relieve the pressure on our main warehouse. Material from the lifts can also be made ready much faster, which speeds up the whole process”, said Frank Meyer, head of production at LISEGA SE. In contrast to the paternoster technology, where all the racks in the storage system always have to be moved, in the lifts only the rack to be accessed is moved, so more articles can be stored in a smaller space. In addition, the new system supports batch tracing. In the new 6-metre high lifts, 750 storage containers of dimensions 400 x 100 x 150 mm can be accommodated. However, other container sizes are also possible.
